Corset Pirouette Dress - Smoky Navy

I'm so happy with the color and fit of this dress it's perfect fit is amazing like fits like a glove. I got the buttercream I'm 5"8.5 158 lbs and love this so much need to grab another color cause this is amazing love how soft it is and the shorts are perfect length. All around am loving this so so so much!!!! Thanks Cassey for such a amazing dress love love love!!!!

I bought one of these almost a month ago in the Dusty Mauve/Lilac in a size Small. I wasn't able to wear that for too long because it wound up being too big in the bust area for me. The cups at the top were gaping, no matter how much tighter I made the straps.

When the Buttercream version came back in stock, I decided to try sizing down to Extra Small. It fits me a lot better! My bust size has been shrinking since my hysterectomy. I've also been able to start working out more often again. My weight and measurements having been fluctuating a little bit. Here are my current approximate measurements when my stomach is empty.

Bust: Around 33.5 in
Waist: Between 27 and 27.5 in
Hips: 35.5 in
Height: 63 in
Weight: Low 130s
Bra Size: Small. 34B at the most.
Body Type: Rectangle
Typical PopFlex size: Small

First of all, I love Cassey. I've been a Blogilates fan for well over a decade, and I've purchased several things from her Target drops over the years to support my gal. I've been wanting to try her Popflex line out for a while but was hesitant because of the price. I finally caved and bought the Corset Pirouette Dress in Blue Storm in XXS since there were just 2 left in stock. Typically, I would be an XS, but reviews suggested going down a size, so I went with XXS since that was also the only size in stock for the color. I think I would prefer XS though.

While I think the design and concept are beautiful, the quality control is lacking. I noticed a good number of other reviews had mentioned the skirt is uneven. I took a chance and ordered anyway, hoping I get lucky with a dress that's stitched correctly, but unfortunately my dress was also super crooked. It just looks really off while worn (my bf also independently mentioned that it looked odd), with the torso curving to my right side and the right side of the skirt coming up higher than the left. I flipped the dress inside out to see what could be happening, and it seems like the top and bottom components were just very misaligned when they were stitched together, which you can see in the pictures attached.

I definitely do not want to keep this dress at the cost of almost $100, but returns require a $5.95 return fee + the original shipping cost would be charged if I return this dress since my original order would fall below $100 and no longer qualify for free shipping. I have never encountered a return policy like this, so I wish I had checked it before ordering when I knew there was a decent chance I'd get an unevenly stitched dress. Exchanges seem to be free, though, and I'd be happy to just have a dress that is stitched properly.

Overall, pretty sad that my first Popflex purchase turned out this way after years of wanting to support it, but hopefully this helps Cassey improve quality control so this doesn't happen to others. :(

Very comfortable dress!!! But I would say you might want to size down because it’s very stretchy.

I literally bought them in almost every color. I really love the way it fits and the way it looks. Super comfy. My favorite outfit. Most of all it does really good at hiding my belly that has a serious bloating problem. I can wear this and still not look pregnant.

Overall, I love the silhouette and style of this dress. I’ve never seen an active dress quite like it, definitely so cute and unique!

Unfortunately there are a few flaws that I don’t believe reflect the price of the dress. Starting with fit- this dress is very stretchy, if you’re in between sizes I would highly recommend sizing down. My measurements are on the smaller side of the Small and it was far too big on me. The fabric was loose around the waist and bra area which wasn’t flattering on a dress meant to give a snatched look to it. The XS was sold out so I reordered in an XXS and it fits much better, though there is still some weird bunching on the fabric in certain places. My next issue is with the shorts and skirt on this dress. I have the pirouette skirt which I absolutely adore. The skirt on this dress doesn’t lay the same, and isn’t nearly as flowy. I feel like the model photos are a little misleading. The shorts are also on the short side. If you are taller or have a long torso, expect the shorts to ride up uncomfortably.
And the last and maybe biggest issue I had with this dress is that when I initially ordered a size small, the skirt was longer in some places than others. It looked like it was sewn on incorrectly, and after looking through other reviews, it seems like that is a pretty common issue. Those kinds of quality control issues shouldn’t be happening this frequently on a dress this expensive. It’s definitely not convenient to go through the hassle of a return.
In the end, I decided to keep the XXS despite some of these flaws. It’s a perfect casual spin to TS’s TTPD dress, which I plan on wearing to an upcoming ERAS show. Buyers should just be aware of what they might be getting for the price point.
