Product Testing
Part of the reason why it takes 12+ months for our designs to go from concept to the real thing is because of the intense time and care we invest into our quality control process. Your safety is our #1 priority and we will never cut corners when it comes to making the best product for you.
"The trust we have with you is the #1 most important thing we've built over the years, and there is NOTHING I would do to compromise that. Open communication, transparency, and kindness - this is how our internal team members work through tough challenges, and it is how we want to work with you to get better as we grow. Seriously, we are always listening and always eager to improve!"
- Cassey Ho, Founder/CEO + Head Designer
Below we will take you through an overview of what testing looks like during product development and prior to the product ever reaching your hands.
1. We put each product through thorough testing
Based on what the product is, we will administer different tests to ensure we are compliant with safety regulations. For a clothing item like the flared legging, we test the following:
✔️ Care Label Verification
✔️ Fiber Analysis
✔️ Dimensional Changes after Home Laundering
✔️ Appearance after Home Laundering
✔️Colorfastness to Washing
✔️ Colorfastness to Crocking
✔️ Colorfastness to Non-Chlorine Bleach
✔️ Pilling Resistance
✔️ Bursting Strength
✔️ Fabric Weight
✔️ Flammability Test for Clothing Textile
✔️ Total Lead Content in Clothing
✔️ Formaldehyde Content in Garments and Uniforms
✔️ DEHP Content in Clothing With Plastic Components
2. We cannot fail on our report cards
Eurofins Scientific, a third party accredited testing lab and international leader in bio-analytical testing, tests our products for safety. Rest assured that no products will be made available to the public if there is even one failed test that could compromise your wearing experience and safety.
3. If at first we don't succeed...
And sometimes we don't! Receiving a FAIL on any one of the tests above (and additional tests not mentioned) will result in us redeveloping the product and/or sourcing new materials until we receive a PASS in all areas.
4. We dust ourselves off and try again!
Rest assured that no products will be made available to the public if there is even one failed test that could compromise your wearing experience and safety. Your safety is our #1 priority and we will never cut corners when it comes to making the best product for you.
5. Sometimes, we test on top of tests
JUST IN CASE. For example, on items that may contain a waterproof material, we will administer a Total Organic Fluorine (TOF) test to screen for the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) which may be more commonly known as "forever chemicals". It is extremely important that we follow government regulations (ie. California's Prop 65) to safeguard people from potential chemical hazards.
Excellent job - you made it all the way to the end! It's good to see that you care about what goes on your body as much as we do. ❤️
