Eating healthy. It's one of the best methods of self-care and ways to make our fitness dreams come true, right? Pairing exercise with yummy, nutritious food is a DYNAMITE way to make sure that we're taking care of our bodies and growing towards our goals!!! 🙌
But sometimes (all the time???) it seems like eating healthy food can be, well, a LOT. Meal prepping takes time, buying the right food takes time, and it can be so easy to end up with a disappointing salad that you don't enjoy at all. 👎
IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE THIS WAY!!! Today, we're sharing seven quick tips from our fav fitness inspirations to help you kill it in the kitchen!!!
1. Remember that what works for other people might not work for you. - @blogilates
We couldn't not start with a tip from Cassey!!! 😍
There is a LOT of misinformation and fear out there about fruits, fats, and other tasty treats. Cassey notes that no one thing makes you fat - and you've got to experiment to see what works for you! Eat what you love, really see how it makes you feel, and switch things up if you need to!!!

2. Cute food = good food. - @pinkerbel
Izzy, a POPFLEX POWERGIRL and registered dietician, has SO MUCH lovely food inspo on her Insta...which reminds us that if you take the time to make your food look beautiful, no matter what it is, you're going to enjoy eating it much more. ✌️
However, Izzy's got a few more tips to share. She recently wrote about snack ideas for pre- and post-workouts!!! Interested in making sure you have the energy to ~crush~ your next workout? 💪 Check out this post!!
3. Try new things. (Two words: SMOKED. WATERMELON.) - @fitmencook
I mean, when you're eating healthy, you could eat the same thing three times a day, seven days a week - and if that works for you, great! However, if you're looking for variety and fun, there are SO MANY ways you can exercise your creativity, think outside the box, and maybe make something that's just a lil weird. 🤪
Kevin seasoned this smoked watermelon with sea salt and a sweet+spicy chili blend and it looks AWESOME. 🍉 (Also: His sweet potato, pecan, and chocolate oat breakfast bites look SO GOOD...we DEF can't wait to try!!!)
4. Keep it balanced! - @kayla_itsines
Eating healthily is often associated with eating less of the things we love...and that's just a lil sad, isn't it??? As long as you're taking care of yourself, moving your body, and eating in a way that makes you feel good, a treat every now and again certainly won't hurt. 💛 (It's all part of being balanced, right?!!?)
5. JUST START. - @msjeannettejenkins
Today is better than tomorrow. Tomorrow is better than next month!!! If you're putting off a big change because you're waiting to be ready, stop! Don't get caught up in how big a new health goal seems!! 😱
Just concentrate on this meal, this day, and this snack, and make sure they're the best they can be. In one week you'll look back and be SO HAPPY you started when you did!!! 💫
6. Freeze your leftover herbs, citrus, and berries for fancy drinks! - @thebodycoach
Pro tip: Doing this can make even plain ol' water taste incredible. (And tbh don't we all need a lil help staying hydrated sometimes!?!?!)
You can also freeze just about any fruit or vegetable to use later in a smoothie or a soup. If you got a little ambitious at the farmer's market and now you don't know what to do with all your food, freeze it!!! (It'll also give you time to figure out fantastic recipes to use!!)
7. Hide yo' veggies. - @jesslike.that
Don't get us wrong, your roasted veggies (or veg dipped in hummus, or colorful salads, or spicy soups...) can be AMAZING. But sometimes, you're just not craving a savory meal, and that's okay!!! 😅
You can STILL get your daily veggie fix in by hiding your vegetables in sweet treats. This smoothie bowl from Jess (a 2019 POWERGIRL!!!) is a great option, but you can make whatever you're in the mood for. Black bean brownies? Beet nut butter cups!? Zucchini muffins?? Sign us up!!! 🙌
Eating healthily doesn't have to be boring or hard. It can be tasty, colorful, a really fun and creative challenge - or as easy as you need it to be!!! With these tips from our incredible fitness experts and friends, you can DEFINITELY put together delicious dishes on your own...and have SO MUCH FUN at the same time.
What are you dining on this week!?
